| The purpose of this policy is to reinforce the importance
of project attendance and to uphold the VJC Service Corps’ reputation
as a dependable and trustworthy organization.
|
|
In an effort to avoid confusion as to whether or not
a project will be cancelled to inclement weather, Service Corps has adopted
the following policy: |
- Members will be awarded 30 hours when they attend all 6 Service Corps
activities throughout the course of the semester (Mandatory Orientation,
4 Projects & the Final Celebration). Sheets will be signed at the
Final Celebration.
- If a member misses 1 project due to extenuating circumstances and
notifies their team leaders PRIOR TO the project, 25 scholarship hours
will be awarded.
- If a member misses a second project, 0 hours will be awarded for
the semester.
|
|
- If the college is closed due to weather related circumstances (snow,
flooding, etc.) all Service Corps projects will be cancelled.
- Rainy weather does not necessarily mean a project will be cancelled.
If you do not hear from your team leader, the project is still on, and
your attendance is expected.
- If the college is closed for a non-weather related reason, a project
may still go on. Team leaders will contact members with alternate plans.
