Lou Squicciarini
Lou Squicciarini, a native of Long Island, NY, graduated from Widener College with a bachelors degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management. He began his career in food service with Aramark as the production manager for Manufacturer’s Hanover at the world headquarters of Trust Bank on Park Avenue in New York City.
A move to Baltimore, MD with Marriott/Sodexho at Saint Joseph’s Medical Center as a manager of retail, catering and vending led to a position with the Wood Company as the production manager of the Board Operations at UMBC in 1998. In his seven years at UMBC, his job knowledge, work ethic, and drive to succeed were recognized with a promotion to Director of Board Operations and subsequently, Director of Operations two years later.
Lou’s prior experience with the building and remodeling of a dining facility has been invaluable since his promotion to General Manager at Villa Julie College in 2005. He faces not only the usual challenges of opening and running a new unit, but also the task of introducing and implementing the board plan concept. This is a man who is not afraid to roll his sleeves up to get the job done, and he has earned the respect of his employees and peers by doing so. Lou is an avid NY Yankees fan and he enjoys watching the games and talking about his favorite team!
